I am over the moon!
This morning I received an email informing me of the acceptance of my watercolor painting “Crimson Collar”, an Oak leaf Hydrangea, to the 17th Annual International American Society of Botanical Artist Exhibition at the New York Horticultural Society.
I am truly honored to be among so many of the artists whose work I admire so much. This was the first entry I’ve made and all though I have been checking my mail religiously in anticipation I truly did not believe I would be accepted.
Validation is a wonderful thing, It’s the adrenalin we crave to keep at something that may seem tedious and mundane to some but I think I can attest to the passion this particular group of artists have for this type of very precise, accurate depictions of botanical subjects.
Details for the show:
September 17 – November 21, 2014
